Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and Task OS, operated by [Operator legal name] (“Task OS,” “we,” “us”). By creating an account or using Task OS (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy and AI Use Statement. If you don’t agree, don’t use the Service.

1. Eligibility & accounts

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) to use the Service.
One account per email address. You’re responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for all activity under your account.
You agree to provide accurate information and to notify us of any unauthorized use.

2. The Service & plans

Task OS is a personal-productivity dashboard that may include task planning, meal planning, informational market/stock tracking, news summaries, and AI-assisted features. We offer a Free tier and a paid Premium tier. Features included in each tier may change over time. AI-powered and agentic features may be limited to Premium.

3. Premium subscriptions, billing & cancellation

Premium is billed on a recurring basis (e.g., monthly) through Stripe. By subscribing you authorize recurring charges until you cancel.
Prices are shown at checkout and may change with notice; changes apply to future billing periods.
You can cancel anytime; access continues until the end of the current paid period.
Refunds: except where required by law, payments are non-refundable. Adjust this to your chosen refund policy.
We may suspend or downgrade accounts with failed payments.

4. Financial information disclaimer (important)

Task OS is not a broker-dealer, investment adviser, or financial planner, and is not registered with the SEC, FINRA, or any regulator. Any stock data, watchlists, sector comparisons, portfolio views, charts, summaries, or AI-generated commentary are provided for informational and educational purposes only and are not financial, investment, tax, accounting, or legal advice, and not a recommendation, offer, or solicitation to buy or sell any security.

Market data may be delayed, incomplete, or inaccurate, and is provided by third parties “as is.”
Past performance does not guarantee future results. Investing involves risk, including loss of principal.
You are solely responsible for your own financial decisions. Consult a licensed professional before investing.
Where you link a brokerage account, Task OS provides read-only informational views and does not execute trades or move money on your behalf.

5. AI features

Some features use third-party AI (Anthropic’s Claude) to generate summaries and content at your request. AI output can be inaccurate or incomplete and must not be relied upon as professional advice. See the AI Use Statement.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Break the law, infringe others’ rights, or upload harmful, abusive, or illegal content.
Attempt to access other users’ data, probe or breach security, or disrupt the Service.
Scrape, resell, or redistribute the Service or its data except as expressly allowed.
Misuse AI features to generate prohibited, deceptive, or harmful content.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

7. Your content

You retain ownership of the content you create. You grant us a limited license to store, process, and display it solely to operate and improve the Service for you. You’re responsible for the content you submit and for having the rights to it.

8. Third-party services

The Service integrates third parties (Cloudflare, Stripe, Anthropic, Resend, Finnhub, and any brokerage/email you connect). We’re not responsible for third-party services, and your use of them is governed by their terms.

9. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any data or AI output is accurate.

10. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TASK OS AND ITS OPERATOR WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR FINANCIAL LOSSES (INCLUDING INVESTMENT LOSSES), ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (a) the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the claim, or (b) US$50.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Task OS and its operator from claims arising out of your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

12. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms or to protect the Service. Sections that by their nature should survive (disclaimers, liability limits, indemnity) survive termination.

13. Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana, U.S.A., without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Indiana (or, if you prefer to include one, an arbitration clause — confirm with counsel).

14. Changes to these Terms

We may modify these Terms. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, an in-app or email notice. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
